Among other responsibilities, I was an instructor of advanced driving techniques at the world-renowned BSR school in Summit Point, WV. It is considered by knowledgeable clients as the premiere advanced driving school in the world.
BSR has two main focuses. The first is driver training pertaining to antiterrorism tactics, e.g. not only how to avoid getting into a deadly situation as an in-vehicle target of terrorists but also how to get out of a situation that has gone bad. BSR has greatly increased the survival rate in escaping an attack versus the old doctrine of stopping and fighting it out with the terrorists. The first focus also includes all kinds of advanced driver training for law enforcement all the way from US marshalls to local police departments.
The second main focus is crash avoidance training for newly-licensed drivers. Contrary to the conventional wisdom practiced by federal government agencies such as NHTSA and nationwide safety organizations, BSR has, through a groundbreaking summary of which Bill Reichardt was the principal researcher and co-author, proven that advanced training for new drivers has astounding benefits in terms of crash rates.
This site will present the study results as well as an 18 part series of driving tips that appeared in two regional newspapers.
